Fibers and Textiles Polyester
We are engaged in total business development to meet the needs of our customers, from the production of polyester filament, one of the raw materials for fibers, to textiles and sewn products.
In the yarn business, we develop high-functional yarns to meet various needs and applications. In the fabric business, we produce high-functional, high-value-added materials based on our proprietary raw materials and spinning technologies and development capabilities in the sports, uniforms, and materials fields. In the area of sewn products, we are engaged in the production of brand-name products (OEM) for school sportswear and sports apparel in Japan, and we also offer a wide range of production services, from design proposals to production (ODM).
Its applications are diverse, and in the clothing field, it manufactures and sells sportswear, outdoor wear, and uniforms.
In the materials field, we manufacture and sell base cloths for pastes, non-twisted yarn towels with a soft feel and texture, and wiping cloths for automobiles and kitchens.
In order to meet market needs, we intend to continue to develop our textile business (clothing and materials) in a total manner by providing high-function, high-value-added products, utilizing our extensive manufacturing and processing know-how and domestic and overseas networks.
Business Features
High-performance polyester filament
Our representative high-functional brands include polyester filament fibers with sweat absorbency and UV cutoff properties, fibers with excellent contact coolness and water absorption and quick-drying properties, anti-static fibers with excellent durability, and WRAMP™ with split fibers and strong wiping performance, as well as a wide variety of other fibers.
Production at overseas locations and extensive domestic and international supply chain
Overseas, in addition to our numerous supply chains in Japan and overseas, we have built a global network of production and processing facilities in Japan, Vietnam, and China that enable us to procure the right materials at the right location, produce them at the right location, and sell them at the right location, thereby expanding our integrated supply chain from materials to finished products.
Environmentally Friendly Products
In conducting our business activities, we believe it is our corporate responsibility to provide products and services that reduce environmental impact, protect the global environment, and contribute to the development of a sustainable society. This business promotes total contributions to environmental activities from raw materials to finished products.
Main Products
Syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS) filament
Syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS) filament, which has achieved a quick-drying, dry feel and improved care and design properties that have been difficult to achieve with polypropylene fiber by taking advantage of its properties such as high hydrophobicity and heat resistance.
[Environmentally friendly: Fluorine-free water-repellent fiber].
Polyester/Nylon split filament
This is a composite split fiber of polyester and nylon. The fibers are divided into 11 layers of microfibers, which transform into fine, flat fibers that provide excellent wiping effects.
[Environmentally friendly: Some grades are made from recycled PET/Ny].
UV-protective filament
It is a high-performance fiber created from our proprietary fine particle kneading and core-sheath spinning technologies. Combined with special ceramics, it has higher UV-blocking, anti-translucency and heat-blocking properties than ordinary full-dull yarns.
[Environmentally friendly: Some grades are made from recycled PET].
MINTVAL™
A long fiber with hot water dissolving performance using a thermoformable polymer, which Kuraray succeeded in developing for the first time in the world. The dissolution and disappearance of yarn creates new value for textiles.
[Environmentally friendly: dissolving fiber that requires no alkali solvent].
Cross-shaped polyester filament
Cross-shaped polyester filament kneaded with ceramics that block ultraviolet and visible light. Special ceramics provide heat shielding and UV-blocking properties. The crisscross cross-sectional shape also demonstrates lightweight and sweat-absorbing properties.
[Environmentally friendly: Some grades are made from recycled PET].
Microporous polyester filament
Kuraray was the first in the world to develop this special polyester filament with micro-cratering. Micro craters on the fiber surface produce excellent colorability and a soft, dry texture.
[Environmentally friendly: Some grades are made from recycled PET].
Deodorant core-sheath conjugate polyester filament
A core-sheath conjugate polyester filament made by kneading a special ceramic-based deodorant into the sheath portion of the fiber. The double deodorizing function of "chemical neutralization reaction" and "photocatalytic reaction" provides excellent deodorizing performance.
