The methacrylic business handles methacrylic resin, which is known as the "Queen of Plastics" because it has the most outstanding transparency and weather resistance among plastics, as well as processed products and related products.

In addition to general acrylic resin-related products, Kuraray's unique lineup of high heat-resistant grades, soft grades, and processed products (sheets and films) based on these grades are available to meet a wide range of customer needs.
We also handle special materials such as radiation shields and plastic scintillation fibers.

Chemicals & Resins

The Chemicals Division handles MMA (methyl methacrylate) and MAA (methacrylic acid), which are raw materials for methacrylic resin. The resins include methacrylic resins suitable for various fields such as optical components such as light-guide plates for LCD backlights, interior and exterior materials for mobility, weak electric appliances, and general merchandise.

Sheets/Films and Related Products

In addition to widely used acrylic sheets and acrylic films, we have a lineup of special materials such as lead-containing acrylic sheets that shield radiation and plastic scintillating fiber (PSF), which has a top-class track record in the world of elementary particle physics. In addition to acrylic resin, we also handle products combined with other resins such as MS resin and polycarbonate to meet a wide range of needs.
