Methacrylic acid (MAA) is a type of unsaturated fatty acid, a clear, colorless, liquid organic compound.

Since it has double bonds and can be involved in various polymerization reactions, it is used in a wide variety of fields, including ester raw materials, lubricant additives, admixtures, paints, emulsions, latex modifiers, paper processing agents, textile processing agents, and DFR (dry film resist/ photosensitive resins).
