KURALON™ PVA fiber is used in cement roof tiles due to its high strength, high elastic modulus, alkali resistance, and good adhesion to cement.

KURALON™ is added to cement tiles, which are lighter and more uniform in shape than the traditional ceramic tiles we are used to seeing, to further improve strength and impact resistance.
It is used not only in Japan but also in other Asian countries.

Strength comparison between FRC tiles and ordinary ceramic tiles

This test was conducted using "Air Roof" manufactured by Fuji Slate Corporation.
Test results demonstrated that Air Roof is 1.3 times stronger than ordinary ceramic tiles.
