ISOBAM™

ISOBAM™ is a copolymer of isobutylene and maleic anhydride, an alkaline water-soluble polymer.
It is generally used as an aqueous solution by reacting with sodium hydroxide, ammonia, amines, etc.

It is used in metalworking oils used as forging lubricants and quenching agents.
It is also used as a binder for adhesives, glass fiber, and ceramic powder, taking advantage of its excellent water resistance and viscosity.

Broadly classified, there are standard type, ammonia modified type, and imide type.
The ammonia-modified type can be dissolved in neutral water, while the imide type has excellent water and heat resistance.
