Activated carbon is a carbon material made by reacting carbon materials such as coconut shells and coal with gases and chemicals at high temperatures, and is equipped with micropores (10-200 Å diameter 10 Å = 1 nm).
Kuraray Co., Ltd. began producing activated carbon KURARAY COAL™ in 1965.

KURARAY COAL™ GW is used for the removal of mold odor, COD components, and THMs in water supply, removal of odorants and colored substances in water, removal of chlorine and organic matter from drinking water, pure water, and industrial water, water purification, and tertiary treatment of sewage and waste water.
