Activated carbon is a carbon material made by reacting carbon materials such as coconut shells and coal with gases and chemicals at high temperatures, and is equipped with micropores (10-200 Å diameter 10 Å = 1 nm).
Kuraray Co., Ltd. began producing activated carbon KURARAY COAL™ in 1965.

KURARAY COAL™ PGW is a powdered activated carbon for water purifiers. Suitable for removal of chlorine and VOCs in tap water with few impurities. It is mainly used as a raw material for carbon blocks for water purifiers.

KURARAY COAL™ YP is an activated carbon for electrodes such as electric double-layer capacitors. Advanced activated carbon manufacturing technology controls pores according to application.
